Visual Arts

At Furlong Park, Visual Arts is a vibrant and expressive part of our curriculum. Our students learn, create and communicate using a wide range of materials, tools and techniques in a space designed to inspire imagination and confidence.

Through drawing, painting, construction, textiles and mixed media projects, students explore ideas, express their experiences and build their artistic skills. The program encourages creativity, problem solving and visual thinking, with activities adapted to support each learner’s communication style in both Auslan and English.

Guided by the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, Visual Arts at Furlong Park helps students understand how art connects people, cultures and stories, while giving them the freedom to experiment, take risks and develop pride in their creative achievements.

We also provide students with immersive arts experiences through excursions and incursions with professional artists, giving them opportunities to engage with real‑world artistic practices, deepen their understanding of creative processes and broaden their appreciation for the arts.
